In Turkey!

After a 412 hour flight - those with small children will understand - we landed in Istanbul, land of Sultan`s, rugs, water-pipes to find...

Honestly, I travelled 4,000 mıles for this? Of course, we refused to get our coffee there. We chose the Gloria Jean`s franchise next door.

Here`s mom:

After the customary 3 hour lay-over, we boarded our final flight to Ankara! My baba met us there and drove us back to his house in the hills.

On the way, we passed many, many apt complexes. Many are built as cooperatives and look very nice.

Now this one cracked me up. The guy is hanging out the cockpıt window, wiping the Captain`s windscreen. No OSHA, no harness. I love Turkey.

Last Race!

Holy Hannah, that was fast! The Silver Spring Grand Prix was held in beautiful downtown SS (what else?) today, Father's Day, giving me an opportunity to leave town feeling proud, sad or broken. Fortunately for me, nothing broke. Unfortunately, I allowed a gap to form and that was that. Ah, well. Next year. I looked good, tho' didn't I? :-)

On to Turkey! Diane`s brother Glen drove us to the airport (he was travelling as well).

The girls were very excited to get on the plane. They had no idea what awaited them.

Trip Preparation

Hey Kids,

It's time to blog our life. And why not? Everyone is doing it. And, yes, since I followed them off the bridge, I can do this as well. So since I jump in with both feet, and don't pay much attention to the format, let's see how well I do.

First things first: gotta get a picture up for testing. I know, how about the one with the family at the ADA Tour de Cure?

Right. OK, that worked out well, didn't it? I think we're on to something. Quite what is anyone's guess. Those cute women-in-my-life are (l2r) Megan, Diane and Ava. They will be my fearless travelling companions in Turkey!

We leave on Sunday the 18th for a two-week trip to Istanbul, Ankara and Bodrum. Other side visits are included so be sure to check in often. Well, at least every other day. I hope to have PC access for most of the trip so's I can update.

Take care -- The Tuncer's
